GDYO Parents Guild Volunteer Opportunities

The Parents Guild is an integral part of the GDYO experience for our students. Your assistance running the snack tables at break,  supervising students at concerts, or even planning events for the GDYO Parents Guild gives you the opportunity to be a larger part of the organization and gives your child the best possible experience.

While it isn’t necessary to become a member of the Parents Guild to volunteer, we certainly hope that you will consider joining!

Are you interested in volunteering as an ensemble VP?

Working as an ensemble VP is a fun and rewarding way to help GDYO be the best it can be for your student’s ensemble. The only times you will be asked to participate outside your normal rehearsal/concert time are the first 2 events happening this summer, and you will never miss your student’s performance. GDYO has 3 VPs and YPO has 2 VPs. All other ensembles have 1 VP. 

Perks:

• 2 free season ticket to your ensemble’s concerts with early access
• 2 Free tickets to any GDYO Meyerson concert 
• Bump to next membership level including perks
• admittance to VIP event at the first October GDYO concert
• Free T-shirt and name tag

Responsibilities:

• Attend VP orientation (7/28, 2:00 pm Sammons Center for the Arts)
• Help at Kickoff party (8/11)
• Help at first rehearsal Parent meetings  
• Set up/manage snack volunteer signup
• Be available to be on site at most rehearsals (YPO/GDYO/CC rotate)
• Sell merchandise
• Pass out membership gifts and photos
• Organize on site social events during rehearsal
