Assistant Orchestra Manager
The Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra is searching for an Assistant Orchestra Manager to serve the GDYO’s 95-member Philharmonic Orchestra and 40-member Sinfonietta. The position is part-time involving a minimum of six hours (2:00-8:00 pm) on Sundays at SMU with possible additional Sunday hours at the Sammons Center for the Arts.
The Assistant Orchestra Manager’s primary responsibilities are setting up and striking the rehearsal room and sectional rehearsal rooms at SMU, distributing music, taking attendance, transporting small percussion equipment, assisting the conductor with any physical needs, and performing similar duties at a minimum of three concerts a year in various venues.
This physically demanding position involves moving stacks of chairs and heavy instruments and requires a person in good health, with musical knowledge, flexibility, sense of humor, love of kids and music.
Position available immediately. Salary $10 per hour.
